How to Use Peanut Milk: 14 Versatile Peanut Milk Uses

Compared to other plant-based milks, peanut milk is a good source of protein. This is why many people are opting for it. But are there more ways to include peanut milk other than drinking? Yes, there are, and I am listing out some of my favourites here –

1. Drink Up A Glass of Peanut Milk

Peanut milk is rich in protein and healthy fats, as well as other nutrients including potassium, magnesium, and vitamin E. This makes it a nutritious substitute for cow milk

Peanut milk has a rich, creamy texture and a peanutty flavor, so you can drink it straight up if you love peanuts like I do. However, as someone new to peanut milk, if you find it hard to drink it as such. So, you can always add flavours like vanilla, cocoa or cinnamon.

2. Add Peanut Milk to Your Cereal

I tried peanut milk in cereal and I liked how it turned out. The creaminess and nuttiness  compliments many types of cereals and oatmeal, sweetened or unsweetened.

The peanut flavour is quite prominent in the milk but does go well with chocolate based cereal. If you have an option, try to use homemade versions instead of store bought ones since they have tons of additives that alter the taste.

3. Peanut Milk Makes for a Delicious Curd & Yogurt

Peanut milk is one of the best alt milk to make yogurt and curd. Try to use thick homemade peanut milk for the purpose, so that you get a thicker product.

Since peanut yogurt is not as widely available as other alt yogurts, you can prepare your own at home. Just use probiotic capsules or vegan/ regular yogurt or chilli tops / lemons to set your peanut yogurt.

4. Make Vegan Kefir With Peanut Milk

The creamy peanut milk is also a great vegan milk option to make kefir. Kefir is a fermented probiotic drink that is rich in good bacteria and is known for its benefits

To make kefir using peanut milk, you will need activated kefir grains or water kefir grains or kefir culture. Since peanut milk does not have lactose like dairy, you will also need some sugar/ date paste to ensure that the kefir microbes have enough food to multiply.

5. Use Peanut Milk as a Coffee or Tea Creamer

Peanut milk can be a good replacement for cow’s milk in your cup of tea and coffee. In my opinion, homemade thick versions work the best for this purpose.

You can add peanut milk to both hot and cold drinks. However, remember that since peanut milk may not froth as well as cow’s milk or soy milk, it is not very suitable for cappuccino or latte.

6. With Overnight Oats, Peanut Milk Works Really Well

Many people add peanut butter in their overnight oats to increase the proportion of proteins. Peanut milk instead of other alt milks will increase the serving of protein even further.

Just soak your oats in peanut milk and add to it some chia seeds, date syrup / or maple syrup and chopped nuts. Keep this in the refrigerator overnight and enjoy it in the morning with freshly chopped bananas.

7. Use Peanut Milk for Shakes & Smoothies

I am an ardent fan of peanut butter and I add it to almost every morning smoothie that I make. So, while at it, I also thought of adding peanut milk as a base, and the results were delicious.

Peanut milk really goes well with a number of smoothie and shake flavours. My favourite addition to peanut milk is banana, cinnamon, cocoa and coffee. You can experiment with different falvours as per your taste.

8. Prepare Vegan Cheese With Peanut Milk

One of the best uses of peanut milk is in preparation of vegan cheese. The high amount of fat and protein in peanut milk help in the formation of a cheese like product.

The easiest way to make peanut cheese is by using lemon to separate the milk. To heated milk add lemon and let the milk curdle. Now separate the curds from the milk using a cheese cloth. Let the water drain out to obtain a creamy spreadable cheese that can be used as a spread or in cheese cakes or as a base for dips and smoothies.

9. Choose Peanut Milk to Make Yummy Ice Creams

Peanut milk can be used to make peanut flavoured icecremas. Its creamy texture and nutty flavor complement the taste of many flavours, the best among which is chocolate.

To make it at home, replace your dairy milk with the same amount of peanut milk. Peanut milk add its characteristic peanut flavour along with providing your ice cream protein and healthy fats.

10. Use Peanut Milk As a Base for Your Curries, Gravies & Stews

Peanut milk is not only a good choice for sweet flavours but it also goes really with with savoury dishes. I use it as a base for my gravies and curries in place of milk, coconut milk and soy milk.

You can also make peanut falvoured stews with the milk. The creaminess of peanuts compliments and balances out the flavours of spices really well. As a beginner, I recommend starting with small quantities and then working your way up.

11. Add Peanut Milk to Your Baking

You can also use peanut milk to make some of the most delicious and decadent baked goods. I usually use it to bake cakes and brownies, but feel free to try it out in other recipes as well.

Use peanut milk as the base for your batter to get that nuttiness in your baked goods. I highly insist you try out a peanut butter chocolate muffin. You will love it, I bet.
