Raw veganism is hard, especially for beginners. Harder still is planning new yet interesting meals. Let me help you sort out one meal of the day with some nutritious raw vegan breakfast ideas. 

As a nutritionist, I have curated a list of some of the best raw vegan breakfast ideas that are easy to put together and high on nutrition value.

Whether you are experimenting with the raw diet as part of a plan or are a raw vegan just beginning your journey, this list will come to your rescue. 


Almond Butter & Banana Smoothie

A raw vegan smoothie is the simplest and easiest option.  For this raw vegan smoothie, you will need banana, raw almond butter, a cup of raw vegan plant milk and chia seeds. 

You just need to get all the ingredients together and blend them well in a mixer. Chia seeds here are optional. I like to add them for the consistency they provide.  


Raw Muesli With Coconut Milk 

Homemade muesli is always a great nutritious idea for breakfast. You also have an added advantage of choosing your favourite ingredients. 

Mix up all your ingredients like seeds, oats, dried fruits and nuts together to make your raw muesli. Serve a bowl with a dash of coconut milk.


Overnight Oats with Mixed Berries

Overnight oats is one of the easiest raw vegan breakfast ideas. It is simple to put together and high in nutrition. In a jar mix steel cut oats, almond or raw peanut butter along with some chia or flax seeds.

You can also add date paste to sweeten it up. Add some vegan plant milk or water and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. Enjoy in the morning topped with fresh berries. 


Raw Vegan Walnut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

If you miss your PBJ sandwich as a raw vegan, I have an alternative for you. You can tweak itto make your own raw vegan version. Prepare walnut butter grinding together walnuts with a bit of water. 

To make jelly, simply blend strawberries or blueberries with dates and chia seeds. Now use apple slices or lettuce as your base and spread the walnut butter and jelly. Enjoy a satisfying fibre rich, nutrient rich breakfast. 


Sprouted Chickpea Lettuce Wrap 

If you are looking for something savoury to start your day, try a lettuce wrap. They are super colourful, nutritious and easy to make. Chop up your veggies –  cucumber, carrots, tomatoes and onions. Mix them up with some sprouted chickpeas and lemon juice. 

Prepare your lettuce by rinsing them properly. Now spread some raw tahini over this and place your vegetables. The delicious wraps are ready. 


Berries & Nut Cream Parfait

This raw vegan breakfast parfait is not only delicious but is full of nutrition too. A good parfait has three layers – crunchy base,  fruits for the middle, cream on top. 

Start by spreading a layer of blended dates, buckwheat groats/ oats & nuts  or muesli at the bottom. On this layer add some chopped berries (any berries of your choice). Top it up with homemade raw vegan coconut cream. 


Raw Oatmeal With Apple & Cinnamon

The comforting oatmeal is always one of the best breakfast ideas. You begin by soaking steel-cut oats overnight. Blend in these oats with some water and dates. 

Add some cinnamon powder and chopped up apples to this. I usually top it up with some sunflower seeds for the extra crunch


Mango Smoothie Bowl 

Smoothies are one of the quickest and easiest vegan breakfast options. This colourful looking smoothie bowl is rich in vitamins, minerals, fibre and an amazing taste.

Start by preparing a mango smoothie. You can use mangoes, bananas and raw coconut milk for this purpose. Transfer it into a bowl and garnish with your favourite seeds and nuts. I would recommend chia seeds, strawberries and almonds. 


Raw Yogurt & Granola

A delicious way to begin your morning is by trying out a delicious raw yogurt and granola combo. Coconut milk yogurt is the best option for this because it is thick and creamy. 

In a bowl add raw homemade granola and to this add some fresh fruits and raw vegan coconut yogurt. Mix it up and you are good to go.  


Strawberry and Coconut Chia Pudding

How about we try a dessert for breakfast, but of course one that has all the goodness without the extra sugar and calories. Preparing this coconut strawberry chia pudding is easy. 

Combine chia seeds, coconut milk and chopped walnuts/ almonds in a jar. Put it in the fridge for an hour. Remove and top with some strawberry & date puree.


Raw Vegan Burrito

Another savoury raw vegan breakfast idea on the list is a raw vegan burrito. For the wrap. Fresh iceberg lettuce works the best. 

For the filling mix up some avocados, onions, jalapeno peppers,  tomatoes, sweet corn, and spices. Squeeze a lemon on top and fill this tangy refreshing mixture in the wrap. 


Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Overnight oats never get old. There are tons of combinations you can try and one such simple one is apple and cinnamon. 

Soak your oats overnight in your favourite raw vegan milk along with some chopped up walnuts. To this add some sunflower seeds and a hint of cinnamon. You can also add some date paste for the sweetness. Enjoy the next morning topped with some crispy apples


Mung Beans Sprout Salad

This delicious recipe is a high protein raw vegan breakfast option. Sprout some beans and mix it up like a salad. 

A usually add chopped up bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, corn and cucumber along with some lime juice, salt and pepper. This can be a good vegan salad breakfast or snack option. 


Raw Vegan Walnut Banana Bread

If you are a raw vegan, chances are that you will have or eventually buy a dehydrator. With a dehydrator you can make your own raw vegan banana bread. 

For making a raw vegan banana bread you would need ripe bananas, oat flour, flaxseed meal, walnuts and dates. Blend the wet ingredients together and mix them up with the flours to make a loaf. Place them in a dehydrator for a couple  of hours or until completely dry. 


Avocado & Kale Green Smoothie

A simple yet delicious choice for your morning smoothie is this beautiful green smoothie that can be prepared in under 10 minutes. Avocados can be used in a number of breakfast options for vegans

In a blender mix avocado, banana, flax milk and pumpkin seeds together. You can also add a scoop of raw almond or cashew butter. 


Banana Almond Chia Pudding  

This banana chia pudding is a great choice for banana lovers. For this recipe you would need some chopped almonds, chia seeds, bananas and almond milk. 

In a tall jar add chia seeds, pureed bananas, almond milk and chia seeds. Top it up with some chopped almonds and place in the refrigerator for an hour before eating. 


Raw Hummus & Veggie Wrap 

Another wrap on my list is the one that uses raw hummus as the spread. Hummus is usually made with boiled chickpea but you can make it with sprouted chickpea instead.

Use collard green as the wrap for your mix of veggies. I like to add bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots drizzled with a bit of lime juice.  


Raw Vegan Savoury Breakfast Bowl

Not all breakfast bowls have to be sweet, they can be savoury as well. For this you will need some good old oats, avocados, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini and sesame seeds. You will also need some lime juice, fresh basil, salt and crushed pepper

Blend some soaked steel cut oats with some coconut milk in a blender and transfer it into a bowl. To this add the chopped vegetables and seeds along with the herbs and spices. The savoury breakfast bowl is now ready. 


Raw Vegan Banana Oats Pancake

For making raw vegan pancakes you would need ripe banana, oat flour and ground flax seeds. Mash the banana properly and to this add oat flour and ground flax powder. Mix well to get a thick batter consistency. You can also add some cinnamon, vanilla essence and maple syrup to the batter. 

Pour this on a parchment paper and place it in a dehydrator until it dries out to make a soft pancake. Top it up with some homemade coconut cream.


Raw Vegan Carrot Cake

A raw vegan carrot cake is not only amazing to taste but is much healthier than a normal carrot cake. Reason being, it contains a variety of nuts and fresh ingredients and no sugar. 

For making a carrot cake that’s vegan and raw you will need carrots, dates, walnuts, cinnamon, maple syrup, coconut flour, coconut oil, and some lime juice. Combine them together in a food processor to get a sticky consistency and put it in a mold. Place it in a fridge to chill and serve as such or with coconut cream topping.


Banana & Nuts Shake

A simple and delicious banana and nuts shake can be your go to breakfast when you are running out of time. They are also a great breakfast choice on a liquid diet

In a blender simply combine together banana and soaked nuts. To this add your favourite raw vegan milk preferably something with high protein like peanut milk. You can also add a couple of dates and vanilla essence for flavour.


Pineapple Mango Chia Smoothie

Yes, another smoothie. Smoothies are easy and quick and a great source of nutrients for raw vegans. 

For this smoothie, combine pineapple, mango, chia seeds, and coconut milk in a blender. Enjoy the thick and creamy smoothie.


Banana Flax Seed Pudding 

Banana and flax milk are some of the most needed ingredients for raw vegans. They are used in a variety of recipes from smoothies to cakes. 

For this recipe you would need maple syrup, mashed banana, flax seeds and a plant milk like almond or chocolate. Combine them together and put it in the refrigerator for an hour before eating. You can top it up with some chopped walnuts or almonds.


Savoury Bagels With Cashew Cheese

This can also be used as a dinner or lunch recipe but I really love it for breakfast. This recipe has two important parts. Preparing a raw vegan bagel using raw flours like quinoa, buckwheat, etc. and preparing a garlic flavoured cashew cheese. 

You will need a dehydrator for making the bagels. The best part about this recipe is that you can add the flavourings and base as per your need. 


Raw Granola Breakfast Pizza

A sweet fruitilicious pizza can be a great choice for your breakfast. For base you would need homemade granola. You can use cashew cheese and fruits as a topping. 

There are plenty of recipes out there. You can follow one of these and with time, I bet you will come up with your own.


Berries & Banana Breakfast Bowl

The simplest of them all is this fruit salad. All you need for this is berries such as blueberries, strawberries and blueberries along with some bananas. 

Mix up the fruits together and top it up with some seeds like sunflower, pumpkin and sesame. Enjoy the refreshing taste.
